CPAP/BIPAP TITRATION
*What is a CPAP titration study?
Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is the most important the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
A CPAP titration study is similar to polysomnography, but additionally the patient is attached to a CPAP device to detect the optimum parameters
needed to treat their apnea.
*What are the uses of a sleep study?
CPAP parameters are not the same for every patient and needs to be personalized.
The titration is needed to calibrate the parameters of the CPAP therapy to suit the patient.
CPAP titration study at NeuroMed
NeuroMed maintains the highest quality in sleep studies and provides patient with the most accurate parameters for their CPAP therapy,
Available at Heliopolis and Maadi also Available as portable service at home.
POLYSOMNOGRAPHY (SLEEP STUDY)
*What is a sleep study?
Polysomnography is a test that monitors multiple physiological parameters related to sleep.
EEG is used to monitor brain activity during sleep, eye movements are tracked using electrooculography (EOG), while body movements are recorded using surface electromyography (EMG), ECG monitors cardiac activity and pulse oximetry tracks oxygen saturation and air flow is monitored using special sensors .
*What are the uses of a sleep study?
Polysomngraphy is used to detect several sleep disorders especially the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).
It’s used to evaluate insomnia (disorders of initiating or maintaining sleep)
Also used to detect parasomnia (disorders of abnormal movements or behavior during sleep).
